My Pets

On this page, I'll be showing you the pets I used to have. About the Memory Video: I made it for memories sake to look back on since she is going to die at some point.. even if it is sad to see them go... My sister made one for Jason long ago and still has it but I don't have the video file so I can't share it =/ The video is only about a couple minutes or even seconds long. Just as much to show how they where when they where alive.

After Misty had died, we got Harmony the next day from Gearharts Petstore. My dad, my mom, and me went to get Harmony but my sister stayed home. Once we got there, the Petstore was closed and we waited for a while but then went to a near by Sheetz to get something to snack on. We stayed there for a while then we went back and the Petstore was finally opened =D It took a while for the lady at the Petstore to get her and put her in the box. I watched and thought, "Whoa, she has a lot of energy!" When we got home, mom prepared the cage that was her home (that used to be Misty's cage) and I sat the box near by and Harmony was making the box jump. She probably wanted to get out real badly and Jason was so curious at what was in there. My mom took her out of her box and at first she didn't want to come out but then she jumped to the low perch and she looked so small that she was so adorable <3 As Harmony got used to Jason and used to her new surrounds, she soon fell in love with our little boy. When she's out of her cage sometimes she wants to kiss Jason and then she gets very hyper, and very happy since she was bobbling her head so much. She absolutely loves to nibble on a piece of string which keeps her content. Harmony even tries to knock down the same ladder that Jason does XD Aww, she wants to knock down the same things as Jason does ^^ My little girl even likes to play with butter knifes (not sharp knifes, don't want to hurt her =/) which aren't sharp enough to cut something. Since it's made out of metal which she can see her reflection and pecks at it. Since Harmony is getting older, her blue belly has turned into the color of her head feathers which are now a faded yellow. After Jason's death actions: when she's being held she tweets like she's tweeting to Jason, since Harmony now has the sunflower mirror with a grit cup plus perch she adores it; she plays with the beads on the mirror, she gets all hyper and attacks it and her string. A month or two later, her blue feathers returned on her back with some patches of blue around her feet and a spot of blue beside each wing. I forgot to mention this before but for some reason back when Jason was still alive she lost her ability to fly, well.. she can still fly of course but she always ends up having a crash landing.. After Jason's death, she chose to not whiling to come out of her cage anymore.. so we just ended up leaving her inside all the time, (even though I let her out while taking pictures of her, can't get a good picture with the cage bars in the way :/) I know we should let her out but at least Harmony gets some exercise by flapping her wings when she's in a happy mood. And she even uses a new tweeting sound that my dad taught her ^o^ but I forgot how it sounded like. Info on Memory Video: My first and best pet video and it's a really good one too since she's so curious about the camera that she happened to walk over to the edge of her cage <3 Yes, that's my voice in there, the voice that I use when I talk to cute animals XD Wanted her to tweet but failed at that but I got something better... curiosity :D

At first she had trouble with her one eye which became watery around October and I was very worried thinking she could die any day but that never happened just yet. As November came her eye got worse; it swelled up, the feathers around her eye molted so some of her skin showed around her still watery eye. She couldn't even open it or close it for only a crack of her eye was opened. Even her actions got worse; she had trouble climbing, she hardy drank or ate, she mostly slept, and she mostly stayed at the bottom of her cage: the bottom perch, her food dish top, and even the floor. I wanted to help her some way so I Googled my problem but the cure always had something to do with a veterinarian but I couldn't since they would probably ask for a lot of money to treat her and there wasn't one who cares for birds nearby. Later on as December came my mom called a veterinarian that my aunt knows to ask for a cure but he didn't know. She called about four or more people and later called Pearce's Pet Place and found out that we could use eye drops since he said that all eyes are the same, nor it be person or animal, the eyes are still the same. My mom bought it and used it for a few days by putting the eye drops in her bad eye twice each day but eventually she sadly died on Christmas Eve, most likely at night.. I knew her time of death was coming but I thought we could help bring her back to her happy healthy self... but we worked on getting a cure too late... I did shed some tears but my powerful crying moments where when she felt bad with her eye problem which I think is most likely an infection. Rest in Peace my lovable, birdy. May your soul be in a better place, where you will no longer have to suffer anymore :'(

A funny and adorable parakeet who's a loud mouth XD He's my sister's parakeet named Jason, he's name is Jason because of my sister obsessing over Jason Voorhees (from a honor movie called Friday the 13th, yeah I know it's weird..) at the time she was naming him. He loves knocking over his ladder, magnets from the refrigerator, kool lade containers, and salt containers. And when he knocks down the ladder or the magnet, he looks down at it, lol. Yep, he's a funny little guy XD He also likes to nibble a lot. When you hold him he nibbles so hard that you bleed o.o That little birdie has been alive for a long time and he still is. He's been with Lizzy, a female parakeet, Misty, and now Harmony XD Boy, he's been with three girls. I remember when my dad, my sister, and me got him. We stopped at a near by Sheetz in Ebensburg. My dad, was the only one who went in since we had to make sure nothing happened to the little guy. So, there we sat there in the car and the radio was on and Jason (in the petstore box) was tweeting sweetly. <3 I'm not so sure he's in love Harmony since he's been with so many girls but he is friendly and playful with her.

He lived a long and happy life, there was a time when my sister was still living with us. He was slowing moving close to being died after he slid down the cage bars and on to the font of the cages, feeling weak and closing his eyes a lot but he did not die that day. A wonderful miracle happened and he was his own happy self once more but when months went by he became very old. Tucking his head into his feathers resting. He developed two green spots a few inches below his cheeks telling that he was old. One day, I came home with seeing that he developed a cut above his nose with a few specks of blood on his feathers, along with some specks on the mirror and the one perch. It seemed like he hit his nose on the mirror but none of us saw what happened to him but the cut thankfully healed up which was very strange. Some where before December 14 came he wasn't asking like himself, he flew from the curtain rod (and to picture frames) and rested up there for a while with Harmony chirping at him probably telling him to come down but he didn't respond which was strange since he barely didn't want to come out of his cage whenever he got to be old. Later, his one front toe nail was getting very long, so long that he had some trouble walking and sliding down the bars of the cage. I knew he was having trouble with it so I told mom about it but she wasn't sure if she should since he bites hard and never got to clip that long toe nail. I know it we should take him to a veterinarian to clip it there wasn't one that's close to us/don't know if there is one that's close to where we live. A few days later, he had trouble with his one foot (but not sure if it's the one that has the long toe nail or not) he would be holding it up like it was hurting him. When December 14th (Tuesday) came, he was on the verge to passing away; feeling weak, closing his eyes a lot, huddling up in the corner of the his cage on the floor, being under his food dish, and finally breathing heavy. Around 10:30pm my mom saw him dead.. I didn't know about this until I came down for something to eat at 1:30am. I knew it was his time to pass away.. I cried badly once before his death and now twice after (but the last one didn't last long like the other times). R.I.P Jason.. I will miss you a lot.. even if you weren't my parakeet you still had a place in my heart..

Misty

Name: Misty
Age: Maybe a Year or More
Gender: Female
Owner: Me
Bought Date: Before 12/12/07
Death Date: 10/15/08
Pet Store: Gearharts Petstore
Bird Type: Parakeet (Budgie)
Feather Colors: Green and Yellow (but mostly green)
Mate: Jason
Memory Picture: Link Here

Misty was the first parakeet I've ever had that was close to me. We played together, had our sad times, and our good times together. She twirled her and Jason's lost feathers. I handed her a feather and she'll take it out of my fingers with her beak. Then I'll play tag of war with her with the feather. Misty was part of my life, she was a good friend to me and she did things with me that no other parakeet we had did.

A few months or later, she felt weak. She would always rest and the bottom of her cage and sometimes she hid under her food cup like she was trying to hid something but she wasn't hiding anything. Misty did that a few more days later and then I knew she was going to... die.. ='< She hid under her food cup so I wouldn't fell sad and I cried my eyes out because she was dying.. I cried so hard on those days. But then, she noticed that I was crying and she jumped from the low perch to her cage door. She sat there, closing her eyes shaking and felling weak. Misty climbed to the top of her cage trying to stay alive for me. She knew that I was crying because I knew she was going to die soon. She stood their with Jason and when he flew up to the curtain rod, Misty tried to fly there with him but feel on the table that was close to her and Jason's cage. I picked her up and brought her back to her cage. I knew she wasn't well to fly or be out of her cage. She jumped to the top perch still trying to stay alive. Misty tried to use all of the strength she had left to stay alive for me but.. it didn't last long.. I stayed home (on a day I had school) with her since my little birdie was a big part of my life and I loved her so much so I wanted to stay home for one day but I'm not sure if I did or not. On a day I went to school, I was so worried about Misty. I kept thinking about her throughout the day. I told my best friend, Amanda from school about Misty and she felt really sorry for me. I think I ever cried at school from worrying about my special little birdie, Misty. When I came home from school one day, the apartment was empty but lucky I had the key to open the door, when I got inside I took my backpack off, my shoes, and my coat. And went straight to the kitchen were we have Jason and Misty at. I went to look at Misty's cage to see if she was still alive... but.. she wasn't.. ='< I cried so hard that day that I was chocking. That was the longest I have ever cried about something. Another few days later, me and my dad buried her in a place far from the road. I made a picture in the memory of my special bird on Paint.Net with some pictures of her.
